As Chair of Microbiome Research at the University of Birmingham, Professor Hall’s research focuses on the microbiome, particularly during early life, pregnancy, and the perinatal period. Professor Hall’s research harnesses cutting edge metagenomics, microbial cultivation, and experimental models to identify and harness microbial species with therapeutic potential.

Collaborative Research Project

Professor Hall will collaborate with University of ÑÇÖÞ²ÊÆ±¹ÙÍø researchers to:

  • Undertake collaborative research planning to identify synergies between reproductive health and microbiome research, to inform future research priorities; and
  • Explore how nutrition-focused projects (for example, plant-base weaning foods) can be integrated with microbiome science.
