ID Cards

We produce cards forÌýstudents, staff and associates of the University who are eligible for an identity card.

For guidance on how and where to use your card, refer toÌýthe currentÌýterms and conditionsÌý´Ç°ù contact Ask ÑÇÖÞ²ÊÆ±¹ÙÍø.

Please allow up to five working days for requests made online for an ID card.

The University of ÑÇÖÞ²ÊÆ±¹ÙÍø issues identification cards as proof of enrolment.

Your card may entitle you to the following:

  • New students

    Your first card is provided free-of-charge and is available 30 days before you are due to start your program.Ìý

    • To get an ID card you must submit a request through the online request form. You will receive an email from Ask ÑÇÖÞ²ÊÆ±¹ÙÍø once your ID card is ready to be collected.
    • To collect your ID card, you must bring government issued photo identification (e.g. a driver’s licence or passport) and have completed your enrolment for theÌýfull academic year.
    • Note: if we are unable to verify your identification against the photo submitted, or the name on your ID card does not match the name on your government issued ID, you will be required to purchase a replacement card at your own cost. This is currently $26.50.
    • Student cards are re-validated each year with a sticker to extend the expiry date.
    • Preferred names are not printed on ID cards, they will display your full official name from the University system, which must match your Government issued photo ID.

    Uncollected ID cards are archived and securely disposed of. There is a $26.50 replacement charge for a new card.

  • Renew ID card expiry date

    The expiry date of each card is located below the photo. Complete yourÌýfull academic yearÌýenrolment before visiting us for a new concession sticker.

    Stickers for 2025 are currently available.

    You can collect a new sticker from these locations:

    • Ask ÑÇÖÞ²ÊÆ±¹ÙÍø, Level 3 Hub Central, North Terrace campus
    • Student Services Office, Roseworthy campus
  • Replacement student card

    If your card has been lost or stolen, please report it to Ask ÑÇÖÞ²ÊÆ±¹ÙÍø.Ìý

    If you have changed your name, damaged or lost your card, or want to change your photograph, you can purchase a replacement card ($26.50).

    • Please select carefully as there are no refunds.
    • We are unable to issue a replacement card if you do not have enrolment in the current study period.
    • Faulty or defective cards can be brought to Ask ÑÇÖÞ²ÊÆ±¹ÙÍø for assessment.
    • Once your request has been placed, your old card will be voided and will no longer work.
    • Old cards cannot be re-activated.
    • Preferred names are not printed on ID cards, they will display your full official name from the University system, which must match your Government issued photo ID.
    • For requests for photo change - photos are taken in person at Ask ÑÇÖÞ²ÊÆ±¹ÙÍø - we currently cannot accept uploaded photos.

  • Travel concessions

    If you are a full-time student, your card may entitle you to travel at concessionary fares on public bus, train, and tram services in South Australia. You should carry your card with you at all times as you may be asked to show your card by an authorised person when travelling on a bus, train or tram.

  • Remote students

    If you are a remote student (i.e. country South Australia or interstate) and you don't have any classes on campus, and are unable to visit any of our locations, you canÌýrequestÌýfor your firstÌýcard to be posted to you.

    Your first card is provided free-of-charge and is available 30 days before you are due to start your program.Ìýi.e. if you start in semester 1, you can request your card after the 1st February. Requests submitted before the 30 days will not be processed.

    Please note, postage of ID cards is only available to students within Australia. International postage is unavailable.

    If you are studying a program located on North Terrace, Roseworthy, or Waite campus, and have not had a card before, please submit a New Student ID Card Request Form.


    If your current card has expired, and you have completed your enrolment for the academic year, you canÌýrequestÌýfor a new expiry sticker to be posted to you.

    • Postage is only available to students studying a recognised remote/off-campus program.Ìý
    • Postage is available within Australia to off-campus students only.

Your card may entitle you to the following:


On the day you come and collect your card you must bring government issued photo identificationÌýto allow Ask ÑÇÖÞ²ÊÆ±¹ÙÍø staff to verify your details. Noting that your name on the Universities system must match the photo ID provided.

Accepted photo identification includes:

  • Australian Driver's Licence
    • physical and digital, via the official government app
    • Screenshots are not accepted
  • Proof of Age card
  • Passport
  • New staff (continuing, fixed-term, titleholder)

    Your first card is provided free-of-charge and is available for collection from the day you are scheduled to commence work.Ìý

    If you are unable to visit our location (i.e. you are located in Pt. Augusta,) please submit a request for an ID card via our online form.

  • Casual staff

    There is a $26.50 charge for a casual ID card. This can be charged to the department or paid for via the Online Shop (once the request has been processed.)

    Requests can be submitted by or on behalf of another staff member, however they must be approved by the registered access control delegate for the building you require access to.Ìý

Visitor ID cards may be issued to visiting staff, students, or affiliates ofÌýthe University of ÑÇÖÞ²ÊÆ±¹ÙÍø.

For information regarding your eligibility for a visitor ID card, please contact your faculty, schoolÌý´Ç°ù department office directly.

Visitor cards incur a fee of $26.50Ìýto the department. Requests for visitor cards must be approved by theÌýregistered access control delegateÌýfrom the building you require access to.

Available visitor cards:

  • Departmental visitor cards are for short term use. These are generic and will contain the faculty, school, department, or office name. Can be reissued to another staff/visitor if necessary.
  • Visitor photo ID cards for longer term use. Will have the visitors name and photo on the card and cannot be reissued.

    A request can be placed for departmental visitor cards and/or photo visitor cards via theÌýID Card Request Form below. There is a $26.50 charge for a visitor card.

    • Requests can be made by, or on behalf of, the cardholder
    • They must be approved by theÌýregistered access control delegateÌýfrom the building you require access to
    • If a new photo is required, the cardholder may visit Ask ÑÇÖÞ²ÊÆ±¹ÙÍø, Level 3 Hub Central to have their photo taken
    • Visitor cards can be collected from Ask ÑÇÖÞ²ÊÆ±¹ÙÍø at Hub Central, or Roseworthy Student Services, if based at Roseworthy

    As authorisation is required before a card can be created, the below form must be submitted. Payment can be made via an account code or, once processed, the online shop.

    Issue of a replacement ID card will incur a charge of $26.50, except in the instance where a card no longer functions due to a genuine fault or has been produced with a clerical error.
