International rankings success for Uni of ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø

The University of ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø has again moved up the prestigious Times Higher Education international rankings released today, breaking into the top 150 for the first time.

The ranking of 149 in the 2015 Times Higher Education rankings follows the University’s jump to 169 in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (produced by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University) released in August.

“This is excellent news for the University but more importantly for South Australia,” said Professor Warren Bebbington, University of ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø Vice-Chancellor and President. “It will help to recruit more international students and the best academics from around the world to the State. It will also help us to attract more research support from both government and industry.

“This equates to a greater contribution to our local economy.

“Year on year improvement is something for which all great universities strive. So moving up in the two most respected international rankings is especially rewarding,” he said.

Three years ago, the University of ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø released a 10-year Strategic Plan, Beacon of Enlightenment, with ambitious targets relating to international reputation.

“The rankings show that our efforts are paying dividends in boosting ÑÇÖÞ²ÊƱ¹ÙÍø’s reputation on the global stage. We have a vision to be Australia’s most distinctive university and we are well on the way to achieving that goal."
