Future risk of coral bleaching set to itensify globally

An international team of researchers led by the University of ޲Ʊ has projected future marine heatwaves will cause coral reefs to be at severe risk of bleaching for longer periods than previously seen.

Large areas of concrete and asphalt absorb and radiate heat, creating an “urban heat island effect”. It puts cities at risk of overheating as they are than surrounding areas.
